Designed for horses that prefer a non-metal contact surface, the Bombers Eggbutt Bomber Blue Elliptical Bridoon combines the familiar stability of an Eggbutt cheek with Bombers’ lightweight Bomber Blue mouthpiece.
The porous nylon-composite material encourages salivation and acceptance and is injection moulded around a stainless-steel spine for rigidity and strength. Stainless-steel joints are carefully blended into the Bomber Blue material, creating a smooth, ergonomic profile without abrupt transitions between materials.
The elliptical centre applies more concentrated tongue pressure than a plate-style mouthpiece while maintaining similar pressure across the bars. This clearer action may suit horses that lean or push into the contact, encouraging them to soften and lower the head.
Fixed Eggbutt cheeks help prevent lip pinching and stop the bit from being pulled through the mouth. They provide a stable feel against the sides of the face, a slower release than loose rings and light poll pressure.

The non-metal Bomber Blue mouthpiece is not covered by Bombers’ lifetime guarantee. Chewing and other factors outside the manufacturer’s control can damage synthetic mouthpieces.
Inspect the entire bit before every ride. Discontinue use if the mouthpiece develops deep tooth marks, sharp edges, splitting or other damage that could affect safety or comfort.
Competition Use in Australia
Current Equestrian Australia rules permit rigid synthetic materials and synthetic-covered metal bits when they meet the relevant construction, thickness and design requirements. Bridoons must have one or two joints, meet the minimum diameter requirement and must not be flexible synthetic.
