Foaled in 2009, Riptide is a flaxen chestnut stallion with striking white markings, carrying on the legacy of his late sire, Surfer Dude. As a “buyback” foal, he returned to the Assateague herd and has since sired many foals, some tracing back to the iconic Misty of Chincoteague.

Marking the 100th anniversary of the pony swim and foal auction, this 1:9 Traditional-scale model honors the island’s rich history. A portion of the proceeds supports the Chincoteague Volunteer Fire Company and the Museum of Chincoteague, helping preserve this cherished herd for future generations.
